How this is calculated

  1. Choose whether to add VAT (kaibemaks) to a net amount or remove it from a VAT-inclusive gross amount.
  2. To add VAT: multiply the net by 1.24 (the 24% standard rate). To remove VAT: divide the gross by 1.24.

Why did the standard VAT rate rise?

Estonia increased the standard rate from 20% to 22% in 2024 and again to 24% from 1 July 2025 as part of fiscal consolidation. No further increase is scheduled for 2026.
